Core Program – A simple formula.
Business Development + Policy = Economic Development

For more than 40 years EDC has provided leadership by implementing strategies that set the San Diego region apart as a thriving center of technology and entrepreneurship, built upon informal networks, a knowledge-based economy, a culture of innovation, and an unparalleled lifestyle.

Business Development
EDC’s business development program aggressively targets inbound investment and provides significant resources to retain and assist local companies expand. Our business development program also focuses on growing emerging and converging industries --sustainability, security, maritime and healthcare.

The new mega-region economic development initiative is a partnership with Imperial County and Baja California to explore strategies to capitalize on the unique attributes of our “mega” region. After an assessment of strengths and weaknesses, we will use global marketing and business attraction strategies that showcase the mega-region assets.
