Welcome to the Advancing San Diego Internship Program

Advancing San Diego’s internship program is an opportunity for small local companies to host interns from San Diego training programs that have been designated Preferred Providers of Talent.  This round of internships will focus on students training to be Medical Assistant. Below is a list of healthcare facilities that are offering medical assistant internships starting in January 2022. There are a number of locations across San Diego County to choose from. Medical assistant internships will be in-person experiences, so students are encouraged to select locations that will be easy for them to get to. Staffing partner Manpower will ensure that all healthcare facilities are complying with OHSA standards and directives. If selected for an internship, you will be able to inquire about a hybrid work schedule with your host healthcare facilities, work permitting.

You will submit one internship application listing your top five location/specialty choices. Please review the full list below to evaluate which locations will be easy to get to, and which specialties align with your strengths, interests, and academic background before beginning your application, as it will need to be completed in one sitting.

Please take a moment to review this “How it works” document which walks through each step of the internship program. If you have any questions, please reach out to Andrea Crisantes Suarez, Coordinator, Economic Development, San Diego Regional EDC – acs@sandiegobusiness.org

The application window will close on Tuesday, November 9.

If you have applied, please register here to attend an onboarding information session on November 10, 10:00 – 11:00 am.
