SUPPORT THE ADVANCING SAN DIEGO INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

Great talent starts at home. Companies in San Diego and across the country cite relevant work experience as among the most critical factor in making a person employable. Studies show that, on average, internships increase the number of first-time job offers a student receives, and the salary associated with those offers. However, limited social capital (access to business professionals) and resource constraints inhibit many young people from accessing internships, limiting access to socio-economic mobility. To address this challenge, EDC’s Advancing San Diego initiative and its partners host a paid summer internship program to give local students relevant work experience at a small San Diego company.

Please consider supporting Advancing San Diego’s internship program to help under-resourced post-secondary students across our region access meaningful, career-building opportunities and strengthen San Diego’s talent pipeline.
