RDI needed to increase its in-house marketing capabilities. However, the highly competitive agency environment is subject to cost pressure and cyclical work fluctuations, based on client demand. RDI needed to find a solution to scale its team, while also ensuring it prioritized communication between offices and its new location so the company could continue to deliver exceptional client projects.
EDC Solution
The growing tech hub of Tijuana, just a 30 minute drive South of RDI’s office, offered an ideal cost-effective solution that did not jeopardize team cohesion. EDC organized a visit for Red Door to tour companies with a Tijuana software development operations including BIT Center, MindHub, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Following up on the tour, EDC in partnership with Tijuana EDC, provided an introduction to IVEMSA, a Tijuana shelter company that assists US companies in establishing entities in Mexico.
Results
As of June 2019, RDI is currently opening its Tijuana operation, investing more than $40,000 and achieving 3 percent personnel growth in employment with projections for growth of up to 15 percent.
